TIDAL ArtS: Mapping Seagrass

Vessel is part of the 2025 TIDAL ArtS Lighthouse programme, a Horizon EU funded project.

Over the next few months, we are going to undertake a mapping of the seagrass meadows around Aegina, to document the abundance of this wonderful and important plant.

We’re planning to create an interactive map of the seabed, using underwater and aerial photography, for as much of the coastline as we can cover. At the same time, we’ll be running workshops introducing people to the seagrass, documenting and mapping it from the shore and while swimming.

Eventually, we’ll create a paper map which can be shared around the island and beyond.
