Adam Williamson (https://adamwilliamsonart.com/) joined us for a three-day workshop at Vessel, teaching us the basics of the sacred geometry of nature. We looked at the construction of flowers, pine cones and seagrass to find how geometry is part of the growth of all biological structures. WE began working on flat paper, then working in 3D with paper sculptures and small wooden structures.

We then brought our work into the public, creating a giant bamboo structure on the beach of Marathonas, that floated in the sea on a shallow reef. This sculpture was a symbol of how we understand and make visible the systems and structures that seem invisible to us, but are crucial to life, like the seagrass meadows of the Mediterranean.

We also created a temporary sculpture bringing together the seagrass and the geometric forms to express the idea of the matrix of life that seagrass is part of.
